Our Martial Arts Program – Ages 16+

Since 2008, our Martial Arts Program has consisted of our own blend of traditional arts, practical skills and techniques developed over many years of training in the following disciplines:

Shaolin Kenpo Karate:  Known for its quick, multiple hand strikes, hard linear striking and kicks, circular movements, pressure point manipulation and joint locking

Jiu Jitsu:  Known for its clinch work, sweeps, throwing, take downs, and ground fighting to gain dominant positions

Kickboxing:  Known for its combinations that include:  punching, kicking, elbow and knee strikes, footwork, and clinching techniques

Jeet Kune Do:  Founded by the late Bruce Lee, it is known for its simplicity in employing minimal movement with maximum effect, using different “tools” for different situations. “Situations” are divided into different ranges:  kicking, punching, trapping, and grappling range and the use of techniques to flow smoothly between them.

Kali:  Filipino martial art employing the use of sticks and knives

In this class geared for adults, we teach proven martial arts skills for self defense in our blend of American Freestyle. Students are taught valuable skills and techniques to handle situations, whether standing up, on the ground, or in between.  Sparring and grappling play an important part and are incorporated in these classes and are essential for dealing with real life situations.
